Nathan Ingram

Contemporary abstraction across public space and studio practice

Nathan Ingram’s practice navigates the relationship between structure and chance, combining calculated frameworks with intuitive mark-making. Through layered surfaces, colour, and repetition, Ingram creates compositions that shift between precision and unpredictability.

Working across both public and private contexts, his projects range from immersive large-scale murals to intricate works on glass and sculptural forms.

STUDIO WORKS

Ingram’s layered compositions explore the interplay between control and spontaneity, surface and depth. Painted on glass and using both sides of the plane, the works are at times physically layered to amplify spatial tension. They blur the line between object and image. Defined by a dialogue between fluid mark-making and precise surface treatment, these paintings invite viewers to consider what is revealed, concealed, and constructed through gesture and material.

pUBLIC WORKS

Nathan Ingram creates bold, site-responsive artworks that transform everyday spaces into engaging visual experiences. His large-scale murals and installations draw from local context, combining striking aesthetics with a commitment to sustainability. Through thoughtful material choices and dynamic compositions, Ingram invites public audiences to see familiar environments in new and meaningful ways.

PRIVATE COMMISsIONS

Alongside public works and gallery exhibitions, Nathan Ingram creates bespoke commissioned pieces for private clients, both locally and internationally. These works range from site-specific installations to tailored paintings and sculptural works, each reflecting a dialogue between the client’s vision and the artist’s evolving practice.
